Overview

You can view the content and  structure of our AHEC site template (showing what content might make sense to include, and how it could be laid out and linked) at template site:

With a user account (contact us for a log-in), you can explore many features and functions on that site, create your own content, and move it around.

The presentation that follows will "prime" you for a visit to this site, and get you thinking about what the most important  options for your redesigned AHEC site could be.

Game Face Web Design draws on three models to provide examples for the features listed below:

These three sites provide examples of the key features we believe should be considered for AHEC website upgrades.

The most important key feature for AHECS may be portal-based navigation because of their unique three-part mission.

  1. Portals: Help students teachers, professionals and community find what they need fast.
  2. Events: Employ calendars, lists and promotions to support event registration and management.
  3. Store: Accept payments for registrations, trainings, and more.
  4. Newsletter: Take subscriptions online, send out via email.
  5. Use Statistics: Count who is using your site to do what.
  6. Video: Engage with short clips; train with long programs.
