Introduction

Agencies that support community health are in the public eye, and need to be taken seriously.  This requires a web presence that inspires trust and value. That website must support the AHEC mission in three populations, reaching students in schools, doctors in offices, and community members at home.

To support funding by service metrics, an AHEC website should track activity on the site by each of these groups, providing valuable statistics for program managers and funders.

A healthy AHEC has a healthy website. 

The health standards of an AHEC site include:

• up-to-date (easy to update by staff, who add and prune weekly)
• easy-to-use (designed for accessibility for users with disabilities)
• effective (able to accomplish the three-part mission)
